What to know before choosing.
Why battery tariffs are different
Some simply provide cheap import and export windows. Others take control of a supported battery. The cheapest unit rate is only useful if the system can charge in that window and the rest of the tariff still suits the home.
Import price vs export price
Cheap import helps fill the battery; export value determines what stored or solar energy can earn. Compare the spread, standing charge and normal daytime rate together.
Fixed windows vs dynamic prices
Fixed windows are predictable. Dynamic tariffs can be cheaper or more valuable at certain times, but usually need software or regular attention to respond well.
Why postcode matters
Some suppliers vary import rates and standing charges by electricity region. If a regional rate is not available here, the product stays visible and is labelled for a current quote.
