START WITH YOUR HOME

Your postcode comes first.

Enter a full postcode to see available regional prices. Without it, you are browsing supplier information, not a price for your home. Covers Great Britain; Northern Ireland has a separate market.

Regional rates will appear after your postcode lookup.

A smart meter must communicate with the supplier and provide the required half-hourly readings. SEG can also accept a suitable half-hourly export meter; check each supplier’s terms.

All listed products reviewed: 01/11/2026. Supplier rates, eligibility and availability checked. Conflicting supplier prices are flagged; postcode API checks have their own timestamps.

Import = you pay

Off-peak prices apply only during the stated hours or eligible smart charging. Daytime prices, standing charges and charging losses affect the total bill.

Whole home or just the car?

A time-of-use tariff usually prices the whole home by time. Device-based add-ons use charging credits or separate plans; household consumption stays on your underlying tariff.

Know how fresh the price is

Postcode checks request available public APIs directly. Each product shows its rate source and check date. Where no verified public API is integrated, supplier pages and quotes are the source.

YOUR EV CHARGING BUDGET

Adjust mileage, efficiency and when you charge. This estimates home charging only.

2.22pper mile
£17per month
£200per year
2,857kWh from the grid / year

Estimate = miles ÷ efficiency ÷ (1 − charging losses) × blended unit price. Daytime price starts at an illustrative 30p/kWh; replace it with your quote. Excludes standing charges, other household use, public charging and subscription fees. Add-on credits and monthly plans can differ.

EV import tariffs & charging add-ons

Compare what you buy: off-peak charging, the rest-of-day rate and daily standing charge. A charging add-on may apply only to the car.

UNDERSTAND THE DETAILS

What to know before choosing.

Fixed cheap windows

A fixed overnight window is easy to understand and can reduce the cost of the whole home during those hours. Check whether the period is long enough for the mileage you need.

Smart or managed charging

The supplier schedules a compatible car or charger around grid conditions, often adding charging slots. Compatibility and app connectivity are central.

EV tariff + home battery

A whole-home cheap window can charge both, but supplier-controlled products may limit other automation. Check the normal daytime rate as well as the headline EV price.

What does 7p/kWh cost per mile?
