What happens during an event
Axle notifies participants, saves the relevant battery settings, sends an export command during the event and then returns control. Events are commonly around an hour, but inclusion can vary by event and region.

Axle connects compatible home battery systems to energy markets and dispatches them during brief grid events. Its current beta proposition advertises £1 per qualifying exported kWh and a minimum £10 monthly reward.

What you need
The current signup route requires a supported inverter connection and a smart meter Axle can read. Registration information such as the property MPAN may also be needed so the asset can participate in energy markets.

Supported manufacturers
Axle currently lists AlphaESS, FOX ESS, GivEnergy, Sigenergy, SolaX, Solis and SolarEdge. Support can still be model, firmware and connection dependent, so the live eligibility check is more authoritative than a brand name alone.
Tariffs and other software
Axle says its service can work with most UK suppliers and tariffs and with third-party scheduling such as Home Assistant in Events Only mode. Its help centre currently identifies Intelligent Octopus Go and Intelligent Octopus Flux as exceptions; managed battery products may impose further restrictions.
Payments and expectations
Axle's published minimum starts after the first full calendar month, while event earnings depend on qualifying measured export. The programme is labelled beta and terms, event frequency, measurement and payment rules can change.

Will Axle affect my battery warranty?
Axle says commands remain within manufacturer safety limits. Homeowners should still check their own warranty, permitted control methods and any installer advice.
Can I leave Axle?

Is the monthly reward guaranteed forever?
No. Axle describes the proposition as a beta programme subject to change. Treat current figures as current terms, not a lifetime return.
