How Charge Pack works

Octopus schedules charging around your tariff and solar, and may charge or discharge the battery during grid sessions. Its current offer provides a minimum £12 monthly credit, subject to the programme terms.

Tariff and equipment requirements

Octopus lists Intelligent Octopus Go, Octopus Go, Flexible and Fixed import tariffs, together with Outgoing Octopus export. A working smart meter and compatible battery are required.

Other battery controllers

Octopus says Charge Pack cannot be stacked with other providers' smart battery optimisation products. Do not assume that Axle, Capture, Sentinel or a self-managed scheduler can continue issuing commands alongside it.

Assess the whole household bill

Compare your current import and export arrangements with the eligible combination before switching. Include daytime use, overnight charging, export income and standing charges as well as the monthly reward. Ask how your reserve and any unusual household loads will be handled.
